Been a pretty crazy year and have not posted anything in quite a long time, so over the next week or so I will post new pics and try to fill everyone in on what has been going on...
Where ya' at Cheffy?
I am currently in Greenville, SC and have been here off and on since leaving the Walker House in Mineral Point last January. I have been working at the Carolina First Center as contracted labor which is good when we are busy but not so good when we are not, if I don't work I don't get paid and that kind of stinks....
What ya' been up to?
Just finished enrolling back into Culinary School working toward my Culinary Educator certification. This time I enrolled in a Pastry Arts program that starts the middle of August, I started another blog that will act as a diary of school to use as a tool for both up and coming Chef's of tomorrow and perhaps to be the sequel to my as of yet unpublished book "The Tao of Being a Chef"
I heard you got your hair cut!!!!!
Yes, on May 29th I was involved in an event for Breast Cancer Survivors and the Susan Komen Center that was sponsored by NV Salon and my buddies Debi Beelow and Zsa Zsa. The event was an "Over 40 Pagent" with makeovers by NV Salon and myself and a chef friend of mine both cut our hair (his was longer than mine) to have a wig made specifically out of our hair (not LocksOfLove, a private company that is making the wig out of our hair) The wig will be donated Christmas time in memory of my Lover, Soulmate and Best Friend Jamie who left to be with the Angels almost 5 years ago.
What's Next?
Am on the road starting next Thursday that will include trips to Knoxville, TN, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Appomattox, VA, Huntington, WVA, Chicago and ultimately to my old town of Mineral Point, WI then back here to start school on the 17th of August
Finale
I will post some pics of some of this stuff within the next couple days, am trying to get them altogether and Debi and Stacy are going to send me pics of the haircut and the "Over 40 Beauty Pageant" within the next day or so as well...
OK...Ciao for Now...
Hugz,
Chef
