My Lil' Vickie...Soulmate, Best Friend, Photographer

A lot of the old Cheffy photos were taken by Vick, I don't talk about her too much anymore since I left Tennessee but she is a very important part of who and what I am...

A while ago Vickie had written a poem for me that I kind of forgot about and I thought I would post it on the blog, just cuz I think it is a cool poem and there are a lot of people that can relate to it...

Forever Yours,
Big Soft Cheek Kisses
Mwahhhhhhhh.....

Michael

The Shirt In My Closet

A shirt still hangs in my closet
even though its not one I wear

I guess it's some how a comfort
just knowing its hanging there

Some jeans folded neatly on the shelf
never to be worn again

Just a small reminder
of things that could have been

I guess we keep things sometimes
we know will never fit

But a woman has hopes and dreams
that are sometimes hard to quit

So for now the shirt and jeans will stay there

Even though they do not fit...

Vickie Jo

(pic of me scribbling in the snow this winter thinking about my baby...)

Sometimes life's road takes us many places.

Regrets or no regrets my world and career landed me in the beautiful world of Mineral Point.

Vickie would really love it here, as I do.

I just wanted to pay homage to this beautiful person for helping me become the man that I am today and for loving me unconditionally no matter what choices in life I have chosen.

Love You Baby...

Michael

I can relate to that poem so well, I am now a true follower of your blog.

I love cooking, FARRRR from a chef. Learned it from my father who was a firefighter in Waukegan for 22 years cooking for, and making happy the bellies of many a hungry brother firefighter until his untimely death 12 years ago 2 months prior to his PLANNED retirement from the department. I followed in his footsteps firefighting and cooking for the guys every weekend and some nights. I hope I did you proud dad. rest in peace Robert Preston, firefighter, father husband brother and cook.
